Q: Is the event free of charge?

A: Yes, the event is free of charge. Corporate sponsorships have been secured to pay for the costs of organizing this event.

Q: Will the event still be on if it rains?

A: Yes, Uptown Live! will go on rain or shine.

Q: Where can I park, and is parking free?

A: Free parking is available at the Royal City Centre mall. Access is from Sixth Avenue eastbound, parkade entrance at Seventh Street. Free parking is also at Westminster Centre - access southbound Fifth Street and enter just past Sixth Avenue. See the event map. In addition, street parking is available throughout the Uptown area, but will be metered.

Q: Will the usual 3 or 4 hour parking limits at the Westminster Centre and Royal City Centre malls apply?

A: No time limitations will be imposed during the event. You can park as early at 10:00AM and stay parked until 6:00PM on that day.

Q: Are there opportunities to volunteer at the event?

Q: Which bands are playing?

A: Uptown Live! features some of the best, emerging young artists from throughout BC. For the complete line-up of talent performing on our three Performance Stages, please go to the The Artists page on this website.

Q: Will there be alcohol served?

A: No. Uptown Live! is an alcohol free event. There are pubs and restaurants in the area that serve alcoholic beverages.

Q: Is there a police presence at the event?

A: New Westminster Police will maintain a presence during the Uptown Live! event.

Q: Will the buses to Uptown run on that day?

A: Buses that regularly run on Sixth Street or Sixth Avenue will be rerouted to run along Eighth Street and Eighth Avenue instead. Please refer to the attached file for complete Coast Mountain bus service information for Saturday, May 26th.
